Trove... First Impressions of the MMO Minecraft mashup

Not only did sharefactory put me into the dreaded YouTube verification loop, but it also did not record ANY of my first half hour of Trove beyond the opening cinematic. Probably for the best.

I was kind of pumped for this game when I saw it announced yesterday afternoon. It looked like a potentially fun lark in a Minecraft inspired world, possibly full of tongue in cheek humour. Instead, the world looks decidedly uninspired, combat is mediocre, even by MMO entry level standards, and it's just plain ugly. I will give it the benefit of a doubt and try again later this week, but I do not have high hopes.

Save your gaming time and grab Neverwinter instead. It's also free, but out the gate is leagues ahead of this mess. Hopefully further time with the game will improve my mood.
