Always late to the party, but always wanting to be invited, I have finally cracked into Deus Ex Mankind Divided. I've included three videos here of some of the twitch streams I have been doing of the game. Now, you may notice some things.

First off, I did the first part of the game twice. Why is that? Not only did I suck at it the first time around, but I also needed to test out the new control schemes. Human Revolution handled beautifully for what it was, and I had zero complaints with controlling Jensen. Mankind Divided, however, speeds up the gameplay considerably, and actually has some decent shooter mechanics. As a result, the default Human Rev control scheme I was using BLOWS.

So, I restarted with the new control scheme triggered, just to see how I fared.

Fuck that is weird!

I just could NOT get used to the new scheme. I then switched to traditional shooter controls, ignoring the "breach" setup (whatever that monstrosity was) and actually started having fun with the game. After I got through the first chunk of the game again, I started streaming the video to the right.

Low and behold, whole game freezes, and I had to back out and restart my PS4. I wasn't sure if it was a combination of the external hard drive housing the install, running the game off disc, and also streaming, but I took no chances. I played Overwatch instead, lol.

I did end up streaming again, after I got past the bombing sequence near the start of the game, where it froze before, and am putting that up to a bug in the game. But so far, that has been the only one |I have encountered, barring my internet exploding last night...

But I digress.

Deus Ex Mankind is stellar to behold at times, and completely lifeless the next. The first game had alot of stiff animations, but covered those with oozing tech noir cyberpunk style. Mankind Divided eschews the yellows and blacks for actual real world colours this time around. I gotta say, I miss the yellows. I know there were alot of complaints when DEHR came out, similar to Zelda's cell shaded iteration on gamecube, but I think it grew on alot of people, just like cartoon Link did. That being said, this game is really quite pretty to look at... at times. All that doesn't matter though, as the game is tight.

Aiming- vastly improved

Menus- holy shit I love em, and yes that's important

Cover Mechanics- didn't need fixing, still intact with an added vault option. Nice.

Story- I'll get back to that

and my favourite part so far, "social battles"- Love em or hate em, they are vastly improved here.

The story may stink so far, but I am only in the early stages, but man did they pretty up the social "battles" and make the aug associated much easier to manage. If you didn't like it before, you may not like it still, but it is much easier to use, and well worth the praxis expenditure.

I'll post more thoughts and vids n things as I progress through the game. Though P5 will be eating up all of my time come next Tuesday. Either way, this game is cheap right now, and well worth the money.

*Full disclosure, due to scanning codes of practice, and Bestbuy being knobs about updating their sales pricing, I scored this game at a paltry $9. Still, I was willing to fork out the $20 for their posted sale price I went in to take advantage of, and even at the $30 price point it is currently at for a physical edition, still would have pulled the trigger!*
